Former Shohei Ohtani Interpreter Lands New Job After Gambling Scandal

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani is ready to turn over a new leaf after the gambling scandal with his former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara.

Mizuhara recently pleaded guilty to fraud and is facing up to 33 years in prison.

Now, it turns out Mizuhara is working as an Uber Eats driver as he was recently spotted delivering food in Los Angeles. The photos were originally obtained by The New York Post and show Mizuhara delivering a variety of items.

Mizuhara released a statement on the incident with Ohtani as he is facing serious legal action: “I worked for victim A and had access to his bank account and had fallen into major gambling debt. I went ahead and wired money… with his bank account.”

Ohtani also released a statement, and the Dodgers star is ready to move on from all of this.

“Now that the investigation has been completed, this full admission of guilt has brought important closure to me and my family. I want to sincerely thank the authorities for finishing their thorough and effective investigation so quickly and uncovering all of the evidence…It’s time to close this chapter, move on, and continue to focus on playing and winning ballgames.”

The sentencing hearing for Mizuhara is set to take place on October 25. For now, it seems Mizuhara is focusing on his new work as he waits for the legal process to play out.
